Walking in Snow

dizzy snowdrift

Brownian motion, ice pixels
forming an indistinct picture; it’s the tingling

in your limbs when they’re being revived
from numbness, it’s the fizz of sherbet

on your tongue, it’s white noise
in a visual form, it’s that swirl in your head
when you stand up too quickly; it’s tumbling, whirling
confusion, settling on a blank pavement, crushed

with a creak of compression
under the sole
of your shoe.
