if love is down to hormones, pheromones
and some sort of inner chemistry that appeals
to the subconscious

if the feeling of euphoria
after a mother has given birth
is caused by oxytocin — an evolutionary safeguard
a maternal feeling induced
by chemical reactions
to ensure one’s offspring survive
